CCC Information Services will be expanding the services it offers via cloud computing in November, according to Jim Dickens, who ABRN interviewed at NACE.

Approximately 1,000 shops currently are on CCC's cloud computing system. Starting in November, CCC will allow its cloud customers to access the CCC platform via a mobile application, such as a Web phone or other wireless device, Dickens said. They will have full access to the entire CCC platform.

"This will enable hand-held access to all the systems at no extra charge to our customers who are using it," Dickens said. "We want to give our customers the opportunity to spend more time on the shop floor, working with their team and serving customers without being tethered to a desk."

For those who haven't transitioned to a 3G or 4G phone yet, don't worry. Those customers still will be able to access all the CCC systems from their laptop or desktop computer.
