IN SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH

Owning a business is much akin to a committed relationship, with one difference.  It seems a heck of a lot easier to get out of a committed realtionship if something is not quite going your way.  If it's a business, you have to deal with it regardless, unless you sell the business.

Recently, I had some health issues that required hospitalization.  I had a stroke.  The DR asked if I was under a lot of stress, and prescribed medication in an attempt to keep another stroke from coming on since I was laughing so hard.  He then told me to take 2 weeks off, and that he would give me a note to give to my boss. I asked the doc whom I was supposed to give this to?   So I read this note to myself, and then denied the request for time off.

I guess the old saying "It's all fun till someone gets hurt" really has a lot of merit.  But we go on, and things somehow seem to become manageable again.
